Room 1 How to Empower Young Men to Be Positive Leaders
Facilitator Jay Posick
Jay Posick is a recently retired 35-year educator, devoting the last 15 years of his career as principal of Merton Intermediate School in Merton, Wisconsin. Since retiring he has had a wide range of teaching and administrative duties, including long-term assistant principal, long-term elementary principal, part-time assistant principal, long-term physical education teacher, long-term technology education teacher and a guest teacher. He is currently a long-term guest 8th grade special education teacher and for the last two years has coached boys basketball with his daughter, Lauren, who is a 5th grade teacher in Erin, Wisconsin. Jay is now in his 38th year of education with 34 of his 38 years at the middle school level.
Retirement hasn’t slowed Jay appreciably. In addition to ParentCamp Coach, he taught a class to pre-service teachers called Educational Advocacy as an adjunct professor at Carroll University. He also spends time mentoring school administrators. Using his extensive, nation-wide connections, he has pushed himself to become a better voice for students, staff, families, and educators.
Jay has also co-authored Principals In Action – Redefining the Role, exploring how the role of principal is always evolving and demonstrating ways that principals meet those challenges effectively.
He graduated Marquette University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and then received a Masters in Educational Leadership from Marian University. He served as a member of the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) advisory team for 15 years, having been a member for over 20 years. He also belongs to the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

Room 2 Yours, Mine, Ours – The art of blending and bonding as a family
Facilitator Deyanna Yancey
Step into Room 2 with De’Yanna as she delves into the art of nurturing relationships, cultivating shared traditions, and exploring how families can actively support one another, fostering a deep sense of belonging and connection that transcends biological ties.
De’Yanna Yancey-Harris, MBA, is a dedicated and visionary leader in the field of educational culture and equity. With a decade of experience at ASPIRA, De’Yanna has journeyed from an inspiring art teacher to now proudly serving as the Chief Mission Officer. In her current role, she is committed to cultivating an educational environment where diversity is not just acknowledged but celebrated, where equity is a fundamental principle, and where every individual is included and valued.
De’Yanna’s educational philosophy is a testament to her belief in the transformative power of an inclusive educational community. She is driven by the conviction that every member of the school community brings invaluable perspectives and strengths. Under her leadership, the focus is on creating spaces that champion diversity, ensure equity, and practice intentional inclusion. This approach not only enriches the learning experience but also prepares students, educators, and staff to thrive in a diverse world.
Beyond her professional endeavors, De’Yanna’s life is full of joy and love. Married for 12 years and a proud mother of four, she recently embraced the role of grandmother, adding another layer of happiness to her family life. De’Yanna is an avid traveler, always eager to explore new cultures and landscapes. When not on the move, she finds joy in entertaining friends and family, engaging in crafting, and embarking on creative projects that reflect her artistic background and passion for life.
De’Yanna Yancey-Harris is not just shaping the future of education at ASPIRA through her leadership and vision; she is also a living example of the power of balance, blending professional excellence with a rich and fulfilling personal life. Her journey inspires many, proving that with passion, dedication, and a commitment to inclusivity, one can make a significant impact in the educational sector and beyond.

Room 3 Suicide Prevention: Support, Strength, and Hope
Facilitator Nancy McGee
Nancy McGee Is a compassionate, life-long, experiential learner with an extensive history of working in advocacy roles. Her origins are in a large family, growing up outside Philadelphia. She started her career working in wilderness camps, living in a teepee and traveling cross country with a wagon train. From there, she moved to a diagnostic and evaluation program for youth, working with The Division of Family Services, onto being a Drug/Alcohol counselor for teens and adults, and then to the Coordinator for the Sexual Assault Network for the State of Delaware and training the listeners on the Crisis and Suicide Prevention Hotline. Each learning curve seemed to build and blend into the next. Ms. McGee has been recognized by family court judges and elected officials for her varied contributions in the community. She currently works as a full time, substitute teacher for Las Americas Aspira Academy while she works part time on the ContactLifeline Suicide and Crisis Hotline and provides training at a state and national level on Trauma Awareness and Responsiveness. She is a Gubernatorial appointee to the Commission on Sexual Assault Offenders and a founding board member of Trauma Matters DE.
