National Virtual ParentCamp March 22nd!

Virtual ParentCamp 3/22/23

We are grateful for the time our facilitators devote to Virtual ParentCamp. After every event, we ask our attendees to list issues they want addressed and EVERY time, we have no trouble searching for wonderful, eager experts who want to help our community of learners. Join us on March 22nd and pick a room, decide to stay or freely move from Zoom room to Zoom room – it’s up to you! You WILL BE SEEN, VALUED, AND HEARD. YOU MATTER at ParentCamp. This is how you transform school culture and education. One hour at a time. One ParentCamp at a time. Registration is free but required: https://www.parentcamp.org/event/2023-03-22-vpc/

Check out these great sessions and facilitators:

room 1

Facilitator Maureen Crawford, (https://bravesmartkind.com/ https://linktr.ee/bravesmartkind)

Maureen works as the Community Engagement officer at The Brave Smart Kind Company. At BSK they work to support leaders, parents, and educators around helping to raise kids around courage, critical thought, and kindness. What if as parents we helped our kids explore THEIR own ways of being brave? Their own ways of being smart? Their own ways of being kind to themselves and to others? What might their experience be when they can connect and develop these foundational things alongside their parent(s)/caregiver(s).

room 2

Facilitator Brionnea Williams-McClary

Brionnea is a Social policy professional specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) with a career spanning several years of experience in education, advocacy, and compliance with program policies and procedures. Within nonprofits, businesses, and government entities—expertise includes delivering adult learning principles while providing T/TA.

Neurodiversity covers a wide array of atypical Brain Development. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders, Dyslexia,  Learning & Intellectual Disabilities, Mood Disorders, etc. etc. Cultural Competence also covers a wide range of social expectations based upon racial awareness, gender norms, and regional morals (religion and cultural behaviors). Therefore, when a child is both neurodivergent and culturally “different”, there is an even deeper challenge to inclusion. We will explore those intersecting challenges in this ParentCamp.
