The National Virtual ParentCamp Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating each night of our National Virtual ParentCamp which is held every other week on Wednesday nights from 8-9 pm ET/5-6 pm PT. We have been blessed to have people from 48 states and 7 countries join us over the past two years. One caveat…if you have not joined us for a ParentCamp, please attend one before applying for this position, you really need to understand our culture and what we are about before you apply.
The list below may look like a lot, but it really isn’t. We have work flows and templates already prepared, so you do not have to create anything from scratch. We pretty well have the process down to a science. This is a great opportunity to reach out and connect with other amazing people across the country and even the globe! We have met so many amazing people who now we consider friends.
The coordinator will be responsible for the following at a minimum:
- Reviewing requested sessions from past attendees
- Researching, contacting and booking facilitators
- Following up with facilitators to make sure they have completed appropriate form and signed up for training (you will not be responsible for training them) and are reminded of the event
- Preparing the write up for each night’s rooms, again we have a template for you to follow
- Working with our interns to create Canva images, promoting the event and updating the website and registration process (they pretty well know the ropes, you just need to make sure they have what they need)
- Updating the weekly Peardeck slidedeck with the new information
- Updating our research data after the event
- Other items that you are us find helpful or enhances the Virtual ParentCamp experience
You will NOT be responsible for:
- Training the facilitators
- Running the event each night, Laura and Julie will continue to do that
Laura and I have done this work together over the past two years and it takes about five hours between us. The pay for this is $250/Virtual ParentCamp. We like to have each night planned out at least a month ahead of time. If you like to work ahead and get a couple of months done at a time, that is even better!
This is an independent contractor position with no benefits. It is completely virtual, no set work hours. You will need to be comfortable using Voxer for communicating with Laura and I and it is extremely helpful to be active on Twitter for connecting with people. You need to be comfortable reaching out to people who you do not know, organized, like to follow a work flow and don’t mind following up with people to keep things on track.
** Legalese: Because Laura and I have spent the last five years of our lives developing this model, system and work product we do require everyone who works with us to sign a confidentiality agreement.
